New Growth Pictures :)

Here's some of the new growth that has been emerging lately.

Onc. Maureen x Onc. Haematochilum  (Mule Ear Oncidium) -
You can just barely see a small little one poking through the bark.

Encyclia Profusa -
This plant I had actually thrown away. It was in my pile of sun victims from last month. This was a big surprise when I went to throw them out last week.

I re-potted her in a small ceramic pot with a plastic insert.

oncidium jairak rainbow -

You can just barely make out a new division between the two adult plants.

This has been one of my favorite plants

Slc. Jewel Box 'Scherazade' -

Small growth just emerging from the bark   :)

My White Dendrobium - I thought that I was actually losing this plant a couple of weeks ago.  She was so sad looking after her sunburn that I had placed a red "watch me" sticker on her pot.  To my surprise, a cute little cane is suddenly emerging  :)

Blc. Mildred Hollingsworth Sun Bulb-

Here's a new growth that I noticed yesterday.

Long Time. . . But, now I'm back.

I'm so sorry that it's taken me this long to post, but things here on my end have been very busy.

I started selling Scentsy last August, and it took off so fast, but now I'm back  and I'll be posting some new plant pics very soon.  :)

I have a couple new additions to my collection, and I can't wait to see what they have in store.

Onc. Heavenly Scent blooming

I've been neglecting my blog lately.  I've recently become a Scentsy consultant, and it seems to have taken over my life.  :)

Anyhow, my Onc. Heavenly Scent's buds are starting to open.  Yay, I'm soo excited  :)

Two new Rescues.

I haven't blogged in a while, I know.  I've been trying to wait till I have some blooms to share.  ((It won't be long)).

Anyhow, I picked these two up from a nursery in Ft. Worth this morning.  Both are in great shape (just a little sunburned).  I'll post some pics once I get home  :)

1st one:  Phal. Malibu Debutante

2nd.      Phal Sinica Cherry

New Free Plants :)

I went to a social thing at my grandmother's retirement community and while I was there they were replacing their plants.

I am VERY happy with my newest additoins  :) The Snake plant is almost 5 feet tall and the emerald thing is large too.    Not to bad for free

Crazy Couple of Weeks

It seems like I have new growth sprouting from everywhere. I've been trying to get some pictures together, but everything has been just crazy.

We are currently working on a remodel at home and I'm sorry to say that I feel like I'm neglecting my plants.  I'm pretty sure that they don't miss me since everywhere you look something new is growing.  :)

Hopefully soon I'll be able to get some new pictures together.

NOID Dendrobium

I couldn't resist this pretty girl.  I went into a nursery this afternoon to see about getting some fir bark and came out with a NOID.  I was laughing to myself, I have no self control  :)

Summer New Growths

This month has been full of growth. . . Last month everyone was dying, and this month they are growing  :)

This is one of my rescued Dendrobiums. I've been watching this sheath emerge over the past couple of days. I can't wait to see what color this one is.

This is my white Dendrobium.  I believe by tomorrow you might be able to see the spike peek through :)
This is one of my rescued mini phals.  This one makes me extremely happy.  Just a couple of months ago this little guy was very wilted and over-watered.

More Rescues

So, I went back to Lowes this evening to see about getting the other "stressed" plants.  :)  Anyhow, I came home with four more.  I did remove these guys from their ceramic pots and placed them in some plastic ones for draining purposes.  I plan on re-potting them in bark later this week.  I wanted to give them some time to acclimate to my indoor climate.

There are two plants to each pot. The mini in the middle has a keiki on the remaining spike.

My plan for my rescues is to get them back to "ideal" health and find new homes for the duplicates. :)

These are the cute ceramic pots that my
rescues came in.  I really like them and I will probably put something non-orchid in them.

They I know they are worth more than what I paid for the plants.

A New Group of Rescues

I went by Lowes yesterday for some supplies and noticed that they had SEVERAL sunburned phals and they didn't seem concerned at all.  I asked about their price and they told me to come back tomorrow and talk with a manger. Anyhow, I went back this morning and bought 4 of the worst of the lot for $0.75 each. They wanted way too much for the rest of them.  I may go back tonight and talk with the night manager (who I know pretty well) and see about the rest.     So here's what I brought home. . .

I brought home two P. (Golden Peoker x Brother White Windian)

Both of these two are very sunburned, but they have nice roots and at least two green leaves.

This one is P.( Salu Spot x Golden Peoker)

This poor baby is the worst of the group.

I also brought homw one  P. Christina.
This  one has a couple good leaves and nice looking roots, but no blooms.  I'll post a pic soon.

New Growth Pics

My Emma White Dendrobium has a new cane that is such a welcome site. I was pretty cure that this plant hated me. I had repotted it in bark, but  for some reason it had started to wilt and just look pathetic.  This is such a welcome site.

This new spike just suddenly appeared out of the blue. This is one of my NOID rescues that has really perked up.

I swear this wasn't there a few days ago  :P

A new spike on my Haraella retrocalla.   I've been so happy with this plant. It's such a "cute" little guy.
A very welcomed bloom on one of my NOID rescues.

Still a crappy June :(

I'm in the process of working up a list of that plants I've lost and which are hanging on.  Most of the ones that I've lost were just so badly sunburned that they just shrivled.

I've been praying that they will all send up a keiki or something, but so far. . . . nothing.

Rough Week.

This has been a rough couple of week for my plants and myself.  The weather's been very crazy, and my plants have suffered greatly.

With the 100+ degrees and high humidity, my A/C took a beating and quit on me.  It's been very hot and humid in my plant rooms. Most of my Phals are stressed, my Encyclias look pretty good, and I think my Oncidiums are loving the change.

Hopefully, some of my wilted babies will perk up very soon.

On a positive note, I have some new growth on my Cattleyas and some of my Encyclias.   Yay!!

Degarmoara Winter Wonderland 'White Fairy Sheath

I found a little surprise this evening while looking over some of my plants.  My little Degarmoara finally has a sheath.  Now I can't wait for a spike :)

I'll post a pic tomorrow.  .. .  I just couldn't wait to share  :)

I'm proud of myself :)

I actually passed up an orchid sale  :)

Today at my local Kroger they were having a nice sale on Phals.  They had several large (6"+) pots for $9.99.
I saw the table and turned the other way. They really had some nice looking plants this time.

Anyhow, if anyone's looking for a phal, they really had some good plants.

Crown Rot Week 4

Wow, it seems like forever since I've blogged. .  but, my cat chewed the power cord for my laptop and my replacement just arrived.  :)

Anyhow, my Orchiee Papillion is still hanging in there. I keep hoping that at some point I'll start to see some new growth.   Hopefully soon  :)

I've been a very bad girl today :)

Today has been a very interesting day, for me anyhow.  I had to drive my grandmother 70 miles to deal with some insurance thing (which sucked and was not how I wanted to spend my day), but on the way home I saw this little nursery that had just opened up. . . .   Anyhow I bought 4 orchids.  Yes, 4. . . I couldn't decide between them. Go figure!

The 4 that I purchased are: ( I'll post pics soon)

1. BLLRA. Marfitch ' Howard's Dream - a cute little Intergeneric hybrid

2. ODCM. Wildcat ' Green Valley' -  Beautiful Oncidium

3. Blc. Fritz Nicholaus ' Spring Dance' Lavender - Beautiful purple Cattleya

4. (Lc. Edgar vanBelle x C. Intermedia) x Blc. Magic Meadow 'Green Genius 4n' -  Stunning Green cattleya with a pink lip
